What are retail signs?

Retail signs give businesses the ability to display information that attracts customers’ attention, increases foot traffic, informs shoppers, and stimulates buying. Appearance matters, not only in terms of designs and colors, but also in regards to the materials used to construct the signs as consumers make snap judgements about an establishment based entirely on its signage. Digital signs let retailers keep messaging fresh and interesting and can add elements of shopper interactivity to create a unique and memorable experience. Signs can even be a combination of static and digital or electronic presentations so that brand elements remain constant, but the messaging can easily be updated and kept current. Signage that incorporates augmented reality (AR) print technology brings exciting new ways to enhance the customer experience with more immersive product trials and showcases and personalized promotions.  The most common types of exterior retail signs are window and building graphics that include decals and hybrid transparent window graphics, banners, and yard signs. Inside the store, wayfinding signs help customers navigate throughout the space and find restrooms and checkout counters. Interior signage also promotes products and highlights sales and special offers throughout the store and point-of-purchase (POP) signs increase impulse sales. The most common interior signage includes banners, endcap displays, wall graphics, video displays, shelf signs, posters, product displays, pop up displays, and floor graphics.
