The Challenge
One of the country’s largest retailers wanted to develop and deploy an employee wellness program that, for the past six years, had been administered by a third party and engaging the employees. The program, which engaged store associates in a year-long wellness challenge, included healthy living tips, recipes, and a grand prize of $150,000 to one employee each year. The wellness challenge materials were available to employees within the associate break rooms, but program participation was low.
With the goal encouraging more participation in the program, the retailer wanted to create more visually engaging pieces that were displayed in a more attractive way, with an easily updated interface. Marketing.com was tapped to take on the challenge by developing dynamic screen displays and supporting print collateral in a kiosk design.
The Solution
Marketing.com developed and produced an end-to-end solution that included a kiosk design comprised of an interchangeable kiosk header and had space for materials such as brochures, healthy recipe guides, posters, and video content available on demand. Kiosks were placed in each locations’ employee break room for optimal engagement opportunities.
Additionally, we managed the production of program components, custom packaging, pack-outs of multiple versions, and distribution of materials to stores/facilities. Marketing.com also coordinated the campaign rollout, developing an automated program launch via text messaging, as well as the option to order via text.
The Results
The initial wellness challenge kick-off was very successful, and our customers saw increased program adoption each year. Wellness programs are proven to reduce claims for self-insured companies,
In the second year of the challenge, the program offered additional support materials, including multi-lingual collateral and display headers, along with reprints of existing materials. The program also expanded to encompass neighborhood market displays, new displays for other company brands, table displays, and ongoing fulfillment. The company initiated Wellness Day events, and the support of Marketing.com continues to grow with the roll out of national and state-specific program collateral and display materials.
Marketing.com took it a step further with a management and solutions-based approach to the wellness program, simplifying the ordering process with our online storefront technology. This took a huge burden from local human resource teams and project managers, as they were now able to order & restock online, and easily track usage and shipments; enabling them to focus on developing additional programs and working towards organizational goals.
